Hwy. 6 & 51 Retail Area

Hwy. 6 which runs along Hobart's northern edge has a great number of businesses along it from Hobart's western border with Gary to its eastern border with Porter County. A great deal of redevelopment is occurring all along Hwy. 6 with a major widening and resurfacing project underway at this time. This is creating new business opportunities along this east-west corridor. Prior to this highway project, much of the recent business development has occurred near the intersection of Hwy. 6 and Hwy 51. Surrounding this crossroads are several retail developments containing over 50 businesses that include:
