One of the things that makes Hobart such a pleasant place in which to live is its fourteen city parks, each with its own special personality. In addition, there are eight county parks and three 18-hole public golf courses. Throughout Hobart, you'll find picnic shelters, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, lighted tennis courts, hiking and jogging trails, boat launches, and more than a few shady fishing holes. Special activities and educational programs, designed to keep children entertained and adults interested, are held all summer long.
Festival Park, with its winding walks along Lake George and a memorial bridge across the dam, is perhaps the most popular park in Hobart. Here, concerts at Revelli Bandshell are performed every week from spring until fall.
Just south of the city is Deep River Park, where a carefully restored historic grist mill operates. This and other Lake County parks offer summer and winter sports activities and special programs for visitors of all ages.
