For more than 47 years, Exceptional Equestrians Unlimited (EEU) has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout ourĀ  community. EEU is a nonprofit organization dedicated to therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted activities, EEU provides a unique and impactful program designed to support individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.

At the center of EEU’s mission is the belief that connection, confidence, and growth can be grown and fostered through the powerful bond between humans and horses. Through structured riding sessions, participants have the opportunity to improve balance, coordination, communication skills, and overall well-being—all while building independence in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. Each session is guided by trained volunteers who are committed to helping riders reach their full potential.

What truly sets EEU apart is the people behind the program. The organization is entirely volunteer-driven, with individuals serving in roles ranging from instructors and horse handlers to barn support and administrative assistance. Their dedication and generosity are the foundation of EEU’s continued success and lasting impact.

In addition to being volunteer-powered, EEU is also privately funded. The organization relies on the support of donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events to maintain its programs and provide quality care for its therapy horses. This strong community backing ensures that EEU can continue serving those who benefit most from its services.

EEU operates seasonally from March through November, pausing during the winter months (due to an unheated riding arena.) However, the positive impact of the program extends far beyond its riding season, leaving a lasting impact on riders, their families, and really, everyone involved.
