This week, the Hobart Chamber of Commerce is proud to feature Red Robin, a restaurant that has been serving delicious gourmet burgers and creating memorable experiences for families in our community for the past 20 years.

Many guests may not know the unique story behind the Red Robin name. It was inspired by the classic song "When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along," which was frequently performed by the original owner of Sam's Tavern, Sam. In 1969, Gerry Kingen purchased Sam's Tavern near the University of Washington and transformed it into what would become Red Robin. After refining its gourmet burger concept in Seattle, the company expanded into California and Canada by 1983, establishing the family-friendly restaurant brand that guests know and love today.

Today, Red Robin continues to build on that family-first tradition while strengthening its connection to the communities it serves. The Hobart location partners with local schools through programs such as Superstar Awards and Burgers for Books, recognizing and encouraging student achievement. The restaurant also works with pediatric dentists and pediatricians through its Superstar Patient Awards, celebrating young patients for their bravery and healthy habits.  Red Robin will even be participating in this year's Chamber of Commerce Wine Walk as a food and spirit vendor on Saturday, August 28th from 12-4!  Be sure to stop in and see them!

Community involvement extends even further through in-store fundraising opportunities that help support local organizations. Each October and November, Red Robin also hosts its annual "Buy a Veteran a Gift Card" program, giving guests the opportunity to show appreciation for those who have served our country.
